After living for 70+ years I have a few thoughts to share …

2 recommendations to young people:

  1. CHOOSE WISELY – This applies to the person you choose to spend your life with. When you are young it is so easy to “fall in love” and jump right in only to find out over time that you do not share similar interests, goals, etc. If you are lucky when this realization hits and you do not have children you can make an easy break and continue your search for your other half. If you do have children this choice will haunt you through out your life especially when it comes to the children as you will have to continue to deal with your chosen mistake.
  2. BUY APPLE STOCK – If you do this when you first start working and keep adding as you go when you retire you will find that your income will be at least twice what it was your last year of working.

Observations:

  • There are two types of people in the world: Doers and Users. Everyone falls into one of these categories. The Doers of the world are people who work hard at doing a good job in their chosen profession and work even harder taking care of their family and helping those truly in need. The Users of the world are those people that basically live off the work of the Doers. They contribute little to society and in many cases end up being the criminals of society. At the end of there lives they have no accomplishments to point to and many times they leave behind children that end up being Users.
  • “In a dark time the eye begins to see”: Unfortunately it is bad events that happen in your life when you suddenly see clearly the bad directions/decisions you have taken. This can be a bad business decision, a bad relationship a terrible inpulse buy or an emotional ordeal. No one can avoid this. We just have to learn from it and move on and try not to repeat it.
  • “See on see two”: This is a simple strange one. It applies mostly to objects such as a particular car make and model. If you notice a particular one it will not be very long till you see another one that is virtually identical. I noticed this particular phenomenon when I was very young.
  • “Think about the opposite to make what you want to happen come true”: Another simple and strange one. If you are waiting for the outcome of something that you want to happen in your favor, dwell/think strongly about what you don’t want to happen thinking that is what the result will be leading to your disappointment. Most times when you do this your favorable outcome will come true. This applies to a wide range of things and is another phenomenon I discovered when very young.
